Marshall Jones started out in the scene in mid 1999. Just like a lot of people who are inspired by the scene, Marshall was all about dancing and enjoying the nightlife. He immediately thirsts for the knowledge on DJing and sought out for answers. Through this, he landed in the guidance of Hotwax Harley and the Radiance crew. at the age of 19, Marshall bought records, sat down with his crew and took in the teachings and art of DJing. From the education of Hotwax Harley, DJ Slipstream, A.D. and the rest of the family, he started molding himself into something he calls "Chunky but Funky". Between 2000 and 2002, Marshall played anywhere he could. From the NC, VA, to SC. Then in 2003 he transported himself to Orlando, FL. While living out his time here in Orlando, he has managed to become successful working for Large Music out of Chicago as a Director of Media Promotions, helped in creating a group called Brownsville, also being a new member of Soul Selection music, and of course meeting with Ian Lee. Then in 2006, together they became Soulidified Music.

1) Marshall's groove is?
It is a fusion of Gospel, Soul, Funk, Hip Hop, Latin, & Jazz woven together with a House beat.

2) When did you get your hands on turntables?
I first was introduced to turntables by my brother in 1991 when I was 11. I officially started getting my hands on turntables when I was 19.

3) Who was or were your music mentors?
I have so many but I must say my parents, brother, Hotwax Harley, Slipstream, Mark Kane, Nougi, A.D., Roy Davis Jr.

4. Why do you do it?/ What's your message behind it?
I do this because it is something I love. I understand that as my role being a DJ / Producer of House music, this is my way of helping people cope with the "BS" of life. Some people come from studying or working and listen to me play and they are carefree for that time period. I am proud to know I can help people using this art form I deeply love. The message I try to deliver is "Keep on pushing".

5) Tell me about Soulidified Music?
Soulidified Music is Ian Lee's & I; an idea we came up with back in 07'. We came up with this concept because we were in Orlando playing this Soulful sound. So we decided we will pair up and be a team. Well as we pondered on names, I always said "Solid" like in the 70s. So we put our minds together and a little play on words later we got the title. When you come to a Soulidified Party, we concentrate alot on the people and the vibe. Music is only 45% of it. It is also venue, atmosphere and the people. So those ingredients help us mold the night's soundtrack. Currently we added an addition to us and she is Wendy Franco, who we feel has a promising future with us and altogether we will push to make something big.

6. Who have you played with or where have you played that you are marking it as a great accomplishment? Wow... I must say playing with Roy Davis Jr. and XL in Chicago was a great one. Plus playing with Mark Grant in Chicago. It is a huge accomplishment for me to know that I am doing the right things because I am alongside these greats that I look up to in the city. I admired them since I started.

7. Where can we catch one of your sets? Well the next thing is WMC at Indra Lounge. We are doing the J.H.I. Community party again and we will have more details to come. Before that check me out in Chicago and you can get details on my MYSPACE PAGE
